  • Leigh Ann Sywassink was hired as a stylist at J. Lydia Salon in Duluth. She has three years of experience as a stylist.
  • CW Technology announced that Trish Crace and Michael Lewis were hired as service desk engineers for Managed

    Services clients.

    Crace will work on computer troubleshooting, server administration, personal computer and VIP support. She previously worked at the University of Minnesota, Morris campus where she was the help desk supervisor for the past four years.

    Lewis is responsible for computer and network troubleshooting, virus and malware removal, and end-user support. He graduated from the College of St. Scholastica with a bachelor’s degree in computer science/

    information systems with a concentration in software engineering.

  • Matthew W. Benfield joined Newby & Lingren Ltd. as an associate

    attorney. He practices primarily in the area of family law, including

    divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, paternity, adoption and orders for protection and harassment restraining orders. He also provides counsel for DWI, expungements and general criminal defense. Benfield is a 2010 graduate of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul.

  • The Entrepreneur Fund in Duluth announced Nicole Wilde was hired as director of the Women’s Business Center. Wilde will drive small-business growth for women business owners by creating and enhancing programs for the Women’s Business Center, by offering marketing strategies proven to increase sales and profitability, and by helping women in the region start, stabilize and expand their own companies. She also will be responsible for building an advisory board of influential, talented and

    experienced women’s business owners in the region.

    Previously, Wilde served as president of Wilde Growth LLC, a marketing firm geared to helping small businesses and community organizations grow by

    offering branding, marketing, fundraising and strategic development.

  • American Engineering Testing Inc. announced Robert Wahlstrom was promoted to principal environmental engineer. He will continue to serve clients with his geotechnical and environmental expertise for

    brownfield and greenfield developments. He also will continue to assist the Duluth office with its special needs for geotechnical and

    environmental expertise.

    Wahlstrom, a professional engineer and professional geoscientist, joined AET in 2002 as a senior environmental/geotechnical engineer. He managed the Duluth office from 2005-08 and successfully merged two Duluth offices into one profit center when AET acquired GME Consultants in 2006. Wahlstrom returned to St. Paul in 2008 to assist that office with his combined geotechnical and environmental engineering expertise for the St. Paul Port Authority’s Beacon Bluff redevelopment of the former 3M campus in east St. Paul.

    He earned a bachelor’s degree in geological engineering from University of Minnesota School of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He has more than 30 years of experience in the geotechnical engineering, environmental and hydro-geologic industry.

  • Tom Long was hired as resource development manager for North

    St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity. Long’s position was funded through a grant awarded to Habitat for Humanity International by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 4 Capacity Building for Community Development and Affordable Housing Program.

    Long has a broad background in administration of nonprofit and for-profit organizations. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Christian ministries administration from Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minn., and a business administration degree from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio. His responsibilities include community relations, developing partnerships with area businesses, churches and nonprofit organizations, as well as volunteer recruitment and coordination.

  • Northland Ob-Gyn Associates has joined Integrity Health Network. The facility provides patients with a complete array of women’s health services, including mammograms; care and support through pregnancy, labor and birth; 21st century options for couples trying to conceive; menopause and osteoporosis care; in-house and hospital surgical procedures.

    In addition to its main office in the Northland Medical Center in Duluth, Northland OB-GYN Associates serves patients at six additional locations: Denfeld Medical Center and the Center for American Indian Resources in Duluth; Lakeview Memorial in Two Harbors; Chequamegon Clinic and MainStreet Clinic in Ashland; and Min-No-Aya-Win Human Services Center in Cloquet. Northland OB-GYN Associates has eight physicians and four mid-level practitioners on staff.

Council members convene twice annually to strengthen the role of community banks as providers of financial services by advocating collective views on federal legislative and regulatory issues, and providing solutions to their core challenges.
