Craigslist voluntarily shuts down sex section advertising prostitution and … – Examiner.com
Just this week we heard that Atlanta is one of the world's top havens for pimps who sell young girls between the ages of nine to nineteen in a sadistic ring of prostitution i.e. sex trade slavery.
While major cities all across the US find this more and more alarming, the proprietors of such debauchery are using more ways to advertise these innocents particularly on Craigslist.
This site has been long associated with those who place "sex want ads," One such ad said, "Anything goes - $90.00." Some of the ads have been related to vicious crimes. But know what? If people didn't use them, they wouldn't be there and there would be no need to shut them down. They would just go out of "business" for lack of "business." It is debatable as to whether or not they shut down voluntarily. It seems they had a little push from 17 state's attorney generals.
Craigslist has been called the "Wal-Mart" of sex for sale venues. That is certainly degrading to Wal-Mart who continues to meet family needs at lower prices in a moral way. This site has been accepting "sex want ads. And these ads have been associated with vicious crimes.
Friday, it was announced that they have shut down their adult section and when it is pulled up it merely says, "Censored." The company says it may lose as much as forty-five million dollars by shutting down this part of their site. Once, a baby was listed for sale.
Their choice of the word, "censored," indicates that it was not totally voluntary. It is believed they will continue their market in other countries.
In a report by Marie Szaniszlo for Boston Hearld.com, she reports Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley as hailing the sudden move by the site late Friday night saying "The removal of the adult section is an important step to better protect the public."
This seems to have come after they were threatened with a complete shut down and now it is not known if this will be permanent or not.
Freedom of speech advocates are already "speaking" out.
Don't think this was what the forefathers had in mind. This was evident at that the time by the harsh treatment women received who were caught in prostitution in those days. That is evidence enough to show that this was not part of what "freedom of speech" was to be about.
"The company said yesterday it would issue a statement on the matter, though it didn't say when."
"The shutdown came weeks after an Aug. 24 letter from 17 state attorneys general stating Craigslist should remove the section because it couldn't adequately block potentially illegal ads promoting prostitution and child trafficking."

God have mercy on our nation and those who seek to destroy, harm, and maimed innocent people. God have mercy on the women who feel that this is an acceptable way to make a living. They may be making money; but they certainly are not making a life.
The ultimate toll on their physical bodies will be evident; but also their mental and spiritual make-up will one day become evident; and they will realize they sold their souls to devil.
And for those innocents who are caught in this terrible sex trade business, we will all be held accountable for allowing this to happen in our nation. The only hope of this nation does not resonate in a person in any elected capacity; but in the hearts of the America people.
God have mercy on the men and women who lower themselves to such a life while jeopardizing their jobs, their families, and their reputations.
Some say this addiction is an illness. If so, it is a self inflicted illness. People don't inject themselves with a deadly virus to make themselves sick; but they will repeatedly seek this kind of sick pleasure. When a person has a real illness, they seek treatment; but in this case they just seek more temporary pleasure at the expense of others. Many times these "addictions" lead to actions and innocent people are raped and killed. Almost without exception when serial sex killers are captured, they were addicted to porn. Many innocent children not taken in the sex slave business are still kidnapped, raped and killed each year.
People have choices and with choices come responsibility and consequences. Personally I am in favor of partially refurbishing Alcatraz and putting all violent sex offenders on the big rock for the rest of their lives. The history of sex offenders repeating their crimes is just too high to allow them on the street with innocent children. Maybe just knowing there was a place like that would help some of them to seek medical treatment.
America has got to stop throwing their hands into the air claiming impotence in what is happening in this nation and take steps to protect all of her citizens from this curse upon our land.
We have the most ridiculous laws protecting the most ridiculous things; and yet we cannot control what is happening to these innocent children? Contact your State's Attorney General and insist that these things be given high priority. Many young and innocence girls die before they reach adulthood. Learn about those who are running for election in your state and ask them how they stand on this issue.
This weekend Sam Olens, running for AG of Georgia, was contacted and he said he had already been made aware of the situation in Atlanta and he would take measures to see that all the laws on the books are enforced. http://olensforag.com/about-2/
Let's get tough on this situation and put them all out of business. If there are no buyers - they go out of business. A society reaps what it sows just as individual people do.
