Fake Virus Removal Program Causes Mass Havoc on PC Users: MS Removal Tool – acovi
NEW YORK – PC repair-man, Bob Walker, has recently released information on the newest virus released from a group of international hackers, labeled MS Removal Tool.
On his website, Spyware-Review.net, he has detailed this recent virus as one which has the ability to block computer programs from opening, and taking control of the entire PC. The anti-spyware program has a similar design to previously released System Tool and Security Tool, both products of the same group of ‘cyber thieves.’
MS Removal Tool makes its way into the user’s PC through security holes accessed via Trojan viruses. These programs install themselves on the users PC commonly without their consent, and is a common occurance via questionable social network links, peer to peer download websites, and streaming video downloads. Once the program has installed itself, it will start on every boot-up of the system.
This fake tool has no ability to track or delete legitimate viruses. Instead, due to a clean design, many users are tricked into paying for software that has no function other than bloating the PC and acting as a method to accept the victim’s money and credit card information.
To remove MS Removal Tool, it is required that the infected user stop all MS Removal processes in the task manager. Following that, the user must delete all infected files from their hard drive and registry. This is a delicate process, and often requires the help of a professional.
