Foot warts – KHSL
Warts are caused by a virus that gets under your skin. Even a tiny cut is sufficient to allow the virus to get inside and cause problems. They are painful and generally appear on the bottom of the feet. Initial treatments may include medication or patches. If the warts don't respond to this, your podiatrist may attempt to treat the warts with cold. Freezing the virus is often effective. If freezing doesn't work, the next step is surgery. The wart is scooped out with a special surgical instrument and the area cauterized with a laser. Even after removal, you should have your feet checked regularly by a foot specialist. The virus may still be in your system, and the warts can reoccur. For more information on foot warts, contact a specialist in your area.
