Help keep track of West Nile virus by reporting dead birds – Belleville News Democrat
The St. Clair County Health Department is asking residents to report all dead perching birds to help the department keep tabs on West Nile virus activity in the area.
Dead birds are often early indicators of the arrival of West Nile. Perching birds include: Crows, blue jays, grackles, starlings, sparrows, finches, robins, cardinals, flycatchers, swallows, catbirds, mockingbirds, warblers and wrens.
The dead birds can be reported to the department by calling 233-7769.
