Ultra Defragger is a fake system utility software that, just like Check Disk, will prevent victims from running any applications on their computer ( including Anti-Virus Software ).
Once installed, the Ultra Defragger Malware / Virus will start each time you log into Windows and will display various error messages when you’re trying to launch an application or delete files. It’s also known to make some folders display no/the wrong content.
After displaying errors like “Windows detected a hard drive problem” or “Windows cannot find Notepad…“, Ultra Defragger will prompt you to scan your PC with the software. If you do so, the rogue will show a lot of errors that can be fixed only by purchasing the full version of Ultra Defragger. Don’t be tricked into doing that! Ultra Defragger’s creators are trying to scam you out of your money and possibly get a hold on your credit card info.

How To: Remove Ultra Defragger Malware / Virus ( Removal Guide )
First of all, you’ll need to download rkill.com and Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware. Also download iExplore.exe or eXplorer.exe from the same location as rkill.com as you might need these files later.
It is possible that Ultra Defragger will prevent you from downloading files on the infected computer. In this case, download the indicated files to another PC and transfer them to your Desktop via USB, CD/DVD, etc.
- Once downloaded/copied, launch rkill.com in order to stop any processes associated with Ultra Defragger. The process might take some time but, once finished, the black window will close and you’ll be able to proceed to step 2.
Note: If Ultra Defragger prevents you from running rkill.com by displaying various fake infection messages, ignore them. If rkill.com gets terminated, leave the infection message/warning on-screen, and run rkill.com again.
If you’re still unable to run rkill.com, try using iExplore.exe or eXplorer.exe. Basically, these files are renamed copies of rkill.com and can help you if you’re unable to run the original file.
Attention! Do not reboot your PC as Ultra Defragger will start again and you’ll need to repeat step 1.
- Run the downloaded MBAM ( Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware ) setup file. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation and make sure you leave both “Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware” and “Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware” checked.
Note: If MBAM prompts you to restart your computer, don’t do it.
- Once MBAM is running ( it should start automatically ), click on the Scanner tab, select Perform full scan and click on the Scan button. It’s time to take a brake as the scanning progress should take some time.
- When Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware has finished scanning, click on Show Results, make sure every box is checked, and then hit Remove Selected…and the Ultra Fragger Malware / Virus is no more.
Note: If MBAM prmpts you to reboot the system, do it. Ultra Fragger has been eliminated so it won’t restart the next time you log into Windows.
- After the rogue software has been removed, MBAM will show you the scan log in Notepad. Close it after you have satisfied your curiosity.
