If your computer got infected with the new ShieldSafeness virus, this article will tell you how to remove ShieldSafeness by following a simple removal guide, as well as what ShieldSafeness actually is, what it does and how to remove it from your computer.
ShieldSafeness is not actually a virus, it is something called a rogue anti-spyware, and it comes from a larger family of similar scam applications called the Wini family of rogues (other members are CyberSecurity, SoftStrongold, etc). ShieldSafeness will warn you about various security threats it detected and then tell you to buy the program to remove the malware them from your computer.
ShieldSafeness, just like any other rogue anti-spyware, gets on your computer via Trojans. You download the Trojan from a website that claims you need certain video codecs or a flah update to view a video. When the Trojan gets on your computer, it will start downloading the remaining data. Then, it will install ShieldSafeness and create a large number of harmless files with random names on your hard drive. ShieldSafeness will automatically start when your Windows is loaded.
When ShieldSafeness starts, it will perform a fake scan of your computer. Then it will show a report that tells you the harmless files it created are malware (of course, you don’t know that they are harmless, nor that they were created by ShieldSafeness itself). Following this fake result list, it will then tell you to buy the program to remove the malware. DO NOT BUY SHILEDSAFENESS! It is a scam and what you should do is follow our removal guide to uninstall/remove ShiledSafeness from your computer. This is scam tactic #1.

Scam tactic #2: ShieldSafeness will display multiple fake security warnings on your computer such as “Your computer is infected with spyware” and then state that in order do prevent critical damage or data loss, you should buy the program. Do not pay attention to these warnings and proceed to the removal guide so you can uninstall/remove ShieldSafeness from your computer.
Scam tactic #3: The ShieldSafeness Virus will also bring up a fake Windows Security Center screen. This fake screen will recommend that you buy ShieldSafeness so you can protect your computer against security threats.
