Once your system is infected, the Trojan will start displaying fake messages saying that some of your files are infected with an Unknown Win32/Trojan. The Trojan will then suggest that you should start a system scan.

The scan however is a forgery and once it completes it will warn you that your system is infected with Trojan.Horse.Win32.PAV.64.a, suggesting that the only way to remove the threat is to download and install Windows Stability Alarm. After you press OK, Windows Stability Alarm will be downloaded and installed on your computer, thus infecting your system further. Windows Stability Alarm Removal Guide

In order to start disinfecting your system you will first need to download RKill, Shell.reg and Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (MBAM).

Note that if you cannot access the internet from the infected machine you will need to download these programs from another computer and transfer them via CD/DVD or any other removable device.

  1. Before you start with the disinfection you need to kill any Windows Stability Alarm related processes. in order to do so you will need to run RKill. Be patient as it will take some time for RKill to scan your system. Meanwhile you might get some fake messages suggesting that RKill is a threat to your computer. Do not worry as this is just an attempt of Windows Stability Alarm to preserve itself. Let RKill complete the scan and then keep in mind NOT to reboot your computer.
  2. After RKill deals with the Windows Stability Alarm processes you need to install Shell.reg in order to fix your Windows Registry Shell value. Do not skip this step as it will result in you not being able to access your normal desktop once you disinfect your system. Run Shell.reg and allow it to merge the data.
  3. Next you will need to install MBAM. During the installation process make sure that you check the buttons labeled as Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware as well as Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware. If MBAM prompts you for a reboot after the installation then please do so.
  4. Once your computer reboots MBAM should start automatically. Click on the Scanner Tab and select Perform Full Scan, then press the Scan button. MBAM will start scanning your system and once it finishes it will display a message saying that the scan was completed successfully. Press Ok.
  5. A new MBAM window will now appear, showing you a list of threats that were found on your computer. Select all the infected files and then press the Remove Selected button. Once this process is complete MBAM will ask for a reboot. Please do so.

If these steps were followed precisely, your system should now be clean.
