Digital Protection is a virus (rogue anti-spyware) that's got into a lot of computers in the past month. The Digital Protection virus, like all other rogues out there, tries to trick you into believing your computer has security problems so that you pay for the program. However, this is a scam and the only thing you need to do is remove the Digital Protection virus using the steps we'll provide just after we learn more about how this virus got on your computer.
Most of the times, the Digital Protection virus gets on a computer when the user clicks on a fake, Trojan-produced security alert displayed on the desktop. Then it installs itself on your computer without asking for your permission and will automatically start each time your Windows OS loads. In addition, Digital Protection will also try to uninstall some security suites such as NOD32, Norton Internet Security, AVG, Avast and others.
Now, when Digital Protection starts, it will perform a fake scan of your computer, but then stat that you need to buy the full version of the program to remove the viruses it found. Please note that you shouldn't try to uninstall programs based on the reports produced by this scan, as it is a fake one, designed to mislead you and make you pay for Digital Protection.

Digital Protection will also display fake security alerts on your computer and block some programs stating that they are infected with an adware module designed to promote sites with explicit content, when, in reality, the Digital Protection virus is the one who creates shortcuts for numerous explicit websites on your desktop.
Now that we know what Digital Protection is and what it does, being scammed is out of the question, but we'll still need to regain our computer's proper functionality. Or, in other words, here is how to remove the Digital Protection Virus:
*Note: You should go ahead and print these instructions if you can, as you will have to close all open applications in the process (this page included). In addition, please bear in mind that these steps are only a generic way of solving the problem. Although this should work in 90% of the cases, there is no guarantee. 1. Restart your computer and start Safe Mode with Networking. To do this, start tapping the F8 key once you see the list of hardware components installed on your computer.
2. Now go here and download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for free. Place MBAM on your desktop.
3. Close all open applications. From the dekstop, start the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware setup and proceed with the standard install process. Remember to tell MBAM to automatically update itself before you complete the installation (there's a checkbox right before you're done).
4. When Malwarebytes Anti-Malware starts, go to the Scanner tab, select Perform Full Scan and then click the Scan button. Now wait for the scan to complete.
5. Back at the Scanner tab, now you should select all the malicious software detected by MBAM and click Remove Selected. Now wait for MBAM to remove the Digital Protection virus along with its related files, as well as any other malware MBAM found on your computer.
When the process is complete you should have successfully removed the Digital Protection virus from your computer.
