I have attempted System Restore and it doesn’t work; why not? – LiteracyNews.com
I appear to have a virus or spyware. Removal tools aren’t working. So I rebooted in Safe mode, because I read in Safe mode System Restore will work. Well, it didn’t. I suspect that the insidious program is preventing a System Restore. In the past, System Restore worked fine, and I had plenty of restore points. Today, even in Safe mode, I only have one date that is allowed to be selected, which is today. Somewhere I read that perhaps I need to re-install System Restore. So, two questions:
1) Any other simple ideas besides System Restore in Safe mode, since the virus is preventing virus-removal programs from removing the virus?
2) EXACTLY how do I re-install System Restore, since on a scale of 1 to 10, I’m a 5 in computer literacy?
