Meeting for prevention of Dengue virus held – Pakistan Observer
Muhammad Waseem Khan Assistant Commissioner Yazman, Imtiaz Ahmed Assistant Commissioner Ahmedpur East, Mian Imam Bakhsh Assistant Commissioner Hasilpur, Hamid Goraia Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur city, Dr. Arshad Ali Bajwa EDO Health, Dr. Saeed Akhtar DHO, Tehsil Municipal Administration and representatives of social welfare were present on this occasion. Dr. Naeem Rauf pointed out that special arrangements are being done for Dengue patients in divisional hospitals and District Monitoring Cells for Dengue have also been established.
He said people should also take care as they should not keep the water uncovered to avoid the nurturing of dengue virus. In the meeting it was told the Dengue mosquitoes attack in the morning at Fajar’s time and in eve at Maghrib. Dr. Naeem Rauf directed to the Health Department and TMA to initiate spry moment for the elimination of Dengue Mosquitoes and special steps should be taken for prevention.
Women drug peddler arrested

Mandi Bahauddin: In a crackdown against peddlers of narcotic drugs, City police arrested a woman identified as Syed Zuhra Naqvi and recovered two kilo cannabis risen (Charas} and a large number of narcotic capsules from her on Saturday.
A case under Control of Narcotic Substance Act (25 of 1997) has been registered by Mandi Bahauddin City Police Station. Cops that arrested the woman said that woman was arrested at Police barrier set up at Cheema Chowk on a tip.
Residents of Har-do-Bohat village demand removal of encroachment from village streets. Khalid Jamil, a resident of the village said that some strong and influential villagers in collusion with revenue officials and police had raised illegal structures on village streets by encroachments and residents of the Basti had been facing problems in moving from one place to another. He said the residents moved a petition to Ilaqa magistrate for removal of encroachments but no action had been taken against the encroachers.
He said previously police reported encroachment cases to Ilaqa magistrate for removal of illegal structure raised on public streets and other public places but now days the police ignore to take action in this respect. He said Punjab Chief Minister had time and again issued directives to district administration for removal of encroachments but concerned authorities had failed to implement them.
Two injured as truck overturned
Qutta–Two people were injured when a truck overturned in Machh here on last night. A speedy truck overturned on diversion on Quetta-Sibi road passing through Machh at night between Saturday and Sunday, police said.
As a result, two persons sustained serious injuries. The injured were admitted to Machh civil hospital. In another case a man was killed when wall of the house fell on him in here in Mashkay area.
Wall of a mud house collapsed during torrential rain in Mashkay, injuring a man sitting besides the wall, police sources said on Sunday. The victim succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.—APP
Legislation to improve stage drama sought
Multan—Resident Director Multan Arts Council Asif Pervez called for making effective legislation in the field of performing arts to restore the confidence of families in theatre.
“It is need of the hour to evolve a useful strategy to bring the families back to theatre and watch stage dramas”, he said.
Pointing out the reason of decline of performing arts, he pointed out “weak or useless scripts result in downfall of present dramas”.
He called for introducing drastic measures in the Drama Act, as without it the absurdity and obscenity couldn’t be removed from theatre.—APP
