WCLO's Steve Benton reports on tuberculosis cases in Rock County
ROCK COUNTY — Concerns over an increase in tuberculosis cases because of the number of immigrants in Rock County are unwarranted, according to Rock County Health Officer, Karen Cain.
She says her records show a very low number of "active" TB cases and numbers ranging from 19 to 33 for positive testing for the virus over the past ten years.
Persons with the virus are given medication to control the disease, and Cain says, only persons with an "active" case can spread the virus.
