Going green with greens
Going green is about conserving energy sources. But that's not all. It also applies to things more appetizing. As in lunch. And dinner.
This is the time of year that people try to throw off the couch-potato behavior of the long winter and turn to salad greens (and other colors) to tone the body and mind.
Halfmoon Salads, a restaurant dedicated to the glories of the garden, opened this past week in Culver Commons, 2900 Monroe Ave. in Brighton.
The restaurant, which sells "creative" salads and dressings, opened on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22.

Computer shop lands in Hilton
Chris Tobin (no relation, from what we were able to determine) has opened a computer sales and service shop in Hilton.
The store, named Monroe Tech, is located at 78 South Ave., Suite C, in Hilton. Tobin and his partner, Brian Kavanagh, offer PC sales and repair, data backup and recovery, spyware and virus removal, security, training for users and other services. After-hours emergency support is available.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Pool store adds retail shop
Design Pool & Spa Ltd., which designs and builds gunite spas and in-ground pools, has opened a retail outlet in Perinton. Gunite is a type of concrete. The store, located at 7244 Pittsford-Palmyra Road, opened Saturday.
Design Pool & Spa will continue to design and install custom-made pools and spas for businesses and residences.
The new retail store will offer swimming pool and spa products and services that include pumps, filters, parts and accessories, water chemistry testing, opening and closing of pools, and equipment servicing. The new retail store will have an indoor pool and spa.
Doughnuts now delivered
Donuts Delite, 1700 Culver Road, is now offering morning delivery. But it'll take more than one doughnut or two to bring out the truck.
Delivery is available from 6 to 11 a.m. for orders of four dozen or more doughnuts. Breakfast pizzas and coffee also will be delivered with a minimum doughnut order.

Medical supply store in city
Airgas Inc., a leading supplier of medical, industrial and specialty gases for business and industry and safety products, has opened a new, larger store in Rochester.
An open house is planned at the new location, 1144 Lexington Ave., Rochester from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 4.
The store offers a new service center and welding repair shop. There will be displays on the latest products and discounts will be available.
