Virus responsible for dog park closure

Town officials have ordered the immediate closure of the Canine Corral at Hap Magee Ranch Dog Park after an animal that visited the park earlier this week was found to have contracted the canine Parvovirus. Measures to reduce the risk of the virus speading are underway, including sterilization of drinking areas, removal of any fecal matter at the park and a general clean-up. Maintenance Services Manager Jed Johnson said the dog park will remain closed until Friday, Nov. 4, and should re-open to the public that Saturday.
