Vivisection & Vaccines
Hi, I have just joined Opposing Views and am hoping that someone here would be able to supply me with the information I am seeking.
I have done a fair bit of research on vivisection over the years, however I have not been able to find specific information on Vivisection and Vaccine manufacture and production.
I am constantly being told that animal experiments and the use of animal kidneys in the manufacture of vaccines is humanely carried out. It is said that the kidney tissue (monkeys and female cocker spaniels as in the case of Madin Darby Canine Kidney cells) is removed from the monkey or canine and the virus or cysts cultured using these cells and the virus or cysts are NOT induced and cultured in the animal prior to the removal of the kidney. Having done research on vivisection, I find this difficult to believe. In addition I would like to know how the kidneys are removed from the animal because according to the study,
"Chloroform, an industrial solvent and one of the most common environmental contaminants, produces carcinogenic effects in the liver and kidney of rodents",
therefore wouldn't this contaminate the kidneys they are removing for culture if they used it to humanely remove the animal's organs? If chloroform would contaminate the kidneys being removed for culture then how do they humanely remove the kidneys even if the virus or cyst was not incubated in the animal prior to its organ removal and ultimate demise?
This information is of great importance to me and I would appreciate any advice as to where I could obtain answers to my questions.
Sincere thanks,
Regards,
