WASECA — On the north side of Waseca lies a business which aims to fix, repair and otherwise improve your computer.
Peak Computer Services is entering its third month and owner Ryan Peterson has been keeping busy meeting with customers and fixing their technological woes.
Peterson said for now he’s focused mainly on the home computer support, but also offers business services as well.
The bulk of his home computer support includes speeding up and cleaning up slow computers, virus and spyware removal as well as computer repair.
Customers can drop their computer off at business, have Peterson work on their computer remotely over the internet, or have him stop by the home.
Peterson said most of the basic computer repair and diagnostic work can be done in a day, unless there is a need to order new parts.
There is a minimum charge of $25 for the service, but if the repairs end up requiring new parts or more expensive service that cost more than that, the fee is waived.
He has future plans to have parts available for sale in the shop, such as spare hard drives and extra cables, to further help reduce turnaround time and add extra convenience to customers.
Peak Computer Services also offers home entertainment setup as well.
Peterson said he recently helped install Netflix to a customer’s television via their Nintendo Wii.
Peterson is a Waseca native. He went to Brown College for his degree in computer programing and has A+ certification as well. Right now he’s the only full-time staff member, but as things pick up he said he would definitely look to take on some new staff.
Although he’s not hiring at the moment, Peterson said he would hold on to any resumes sent his way. One of the main things he looks for in a candidate is a willingness to learn new things.
Peak Computer Services is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
