How Do I Get Rid Of The Conficker Remnants On My Computer?
Whenever i do a windows onecare scan, it detects the remants to win32 conficker (variant c i think) but it can’t get rid of them. Also i think these remnants are keeping me from getting the windows update for the conficker worm. help?
you have a little nasty here. do as i say exactly.
1. download and install malwarebytes antimalware and superantispyware.
2. install these two programs and update them.
3. next turn off system restore.
4. next go into safe mode.
5. do a full system scan with each program in safe mode.
6. quarantine any threats found.
7. get out of safe mode and turn system restore back on.
8. you should now be good to go.
9. if this did not help go to the symantec webpage and download the conficker removal tool.
10. once your conficker problem is resolved i would suggest you uninstall onecare because it sucks!!! install avira instead.

there’s one more thing you can try. if you have some security tools installed on your pc, boot the machine into safe mode and then run a scan.
