I Just Wonder How Many Spread Of Conficker C On April 2009?
Will be screaming and pulling their hair out come April 1st. All because they didn’t read my Public announcement about the new worm to hit April 1st. Called Conficker C.People shouldn’t open email or junk mail unless 100% sure they know what it is.
This must be the 2000th time the whole internet has been destroyed by a super virus. With all the publicity don’t you think the virus and OS writers will already have patched for it? YOUR public statement is nothing. You are just publicising this idiotic, cowardly worm’s hyped up junk. You are making a hero of an animal which does not have the imagination or intelligence to do anything useful in life.
First off, the biggest misconception is that the worm is going to be released on April 1…that is not the case.
The worm has been in the wild for a good amount of time already. It is programmed to contact it’s home on April 1, to do what is no known.
You should take all normal precautions, and scan your system with an up to date virus scanner. If you don’t have one, you can download Avast for free from http://www.avast.com.
Also, Microsoft OneCare has a live scanner that will detect the worm.
You are absolutely right about not opening email unless you are sure WHAT it is. It does not matter if you know WHO it is from, as the worm is able to spread itself by emailing contacts in an address book of an infected system.
If you are the ultra paranoid type, unplug your computer from the internet for the day and watch the news to see what happens. It could very well be a massive prank (it IS april 1st, after all). A system not connected to the net, but still infected, will still carry out whatever it is set to do when it IS reconnected, but at least you’ll know what to expect.
