if your computer is not infected yet, you won’t experience a thing. actually there are no effects on infected machines too since it’s already april 1st and nothing happened so far.
here’s more information about conficker: http://www.spywarevoid.com/remove-confic…
No one knows if it’s true, and no one knows what it will do to computers, and the best thing you can do is to not open spam e-mails and visit safe websites like yahoo, also update your virus protection software as much as you can.
Basically no one knows anything about this virus, that is why the whole world is scared, to make matters worse; no one knows how to track it. The world governments don’t know it’s intentions or if it’s true. So look out. We have the Satan of the Internet, it’s like a ghost.
Yes, it’s true and so is the information given in the answers so far. What’s already happened is that little pieces of code (bots) have infected millions of computers and tomorrow the call will go out to have them contact “the Master”. Experts don’t know what they will be programmed to do but working together they will form the world’s largest parallel computer.
People without genuine Windows products are most in danger of being infected because they can’t download updates and patches. The infection will be highest in places like China and India and other areas that have hi rates of black market Windows installed.
Run the Stinger.
I am already infected with conficker worm,The Conficker worm has infected millions of Windows computers—and is set to be unleashed on April 1st, 2009.
Most anti-virus software has already been able to detect and remove the Conficker worm for a while now, so you are probably not at risk as long as you keep up with your updates and have real-time scanning enabled.
To actually detect and remove the worm, you can use the freely available Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool that can remove a large number of viruses—for a full guide, I’ve also written an article on how to scan and remove malicious viruses.

How do I know if I’m already infected with Conficker.c? The easiest way is to try to reach some of the popular Web sites that Conficker blocks. If you can’t get to Microsoft.com, Symantec.com, McAfee.com and SecureWorks.com, it’s likely you’ve lost control of your computer to Conficker. (The complete list of all 114 domains that the worm blocks can be found in SRI International’s excellent analysis of Conficker.c.)
I’m infected! What do I do? Run one of the many Conficker detection and cleaning tools to scrub the worm from your system. You can also use these tools to verify that your PC is, in fact, owned by the hackers.
Among your choices are removal utilities from: F-Secure, McAfee Inc. (download “W32/Conficker Stinger”) and Symantec.
Note: If your system is infected, you won’t be able to reach these download sites from that PC (see the previous question). Instead, download the tool from a clean machine, stick it on a flash drive, and transfer it to the infected box.
Well you can help to prevent or get rid of this “Conficker Worm” thats probably just a bad April Fools Joke, which makes the Media hype. You still should be aware thought. No one knows
Download this just to prevent or get rid of it, from Microsoft!

I only saw 2 newspapers today (major ones where I live) and they both had a big article on it, and now i saw Yahoo. It looks like it might be going thru!
The best i can say from what I see is makesure ur comp has the updates n the security updates and all that. It is supose to be really hard to get rid of and if u have things in ur USB it can copy itself in there, easily being able to be transferd. Even clean it out it can still reinstall itself if the auto-run feature is on. Its supose to make going to security websites impossible, as well as making ur hard drive go haywire. It isnt supose to, but it has the ability to knock you off the internet. It may once u have it, save everything you do, passwords, messages everything and be a big money scam. Careful of what you do. Good luck on being safe!
And the award for “Best April Fool’s Day joke” for the year 2009 has to go to this whole Conficker worm scare. It seems that everyone was panicking for nothing, no doomsday, no end of the world…*sigh* kind of a let down actually.

experts say theres a 20% chance. I don’t think it will. try going on Mcafee.com, Microsoft.com, Symantec.com or other websites that block it, if you can’t go on them, you’re infected.
This is the site that tells you EVERYTHING you need to knoww!
I hope this helps!http://mcafee.com/us/threat_center/confi…
