I want to see what a trojan horse virus does to my computer.

My Avast antivirus popped up today saying i have A dropper which is also known as a vundo? Its called this ‘Win32:VunDrop [Drp]‘. Ive tryed to delete move, move to chest ect but that doesnt work. Can any1 tell me how to remove it please. A step to step guide would be great if anybody could do that

i know how to remove it and stuff, but my friend is affected by this virus and she wants to know where it comes from…
a downloaded program?
and internet site?
thnx…help would be appreciated

The term Trojan horse instantly reminds us of the classical reference of the battle of Troy, but in present context it’s more relevant for malicious computer program. Trojan is basically a program that is hidden in the pretext of being a harmless and attractive software download. There are more reasons behind the circulations of Trojan horse virus and they are predominantly wrong business tricks. Trojans can collect email addresses from a computer for spamming. Trojan attacks can also install spyware into the system that keeps track of the user’s net behavior a reports data like browsing habits to other people for targeted online marketing.

Trojan horse is also used by the black hat hackers or the crackers for criminal activities. They use Trojan to attack a computer and then phish for bank or other account details that are used for criminal activities like unauthorized fund transfers. Another serious threat posed by the Trojan horses is the execution of the RAT or remote administration tool that lets other user to control the activities of the infected computer. This enables the remote user to use the system for criminal activities, for sending spasm for spreading virus and so on.

As the Trojan horse viruses are hidden in the software downloads you can not really predict the presence of Trojan. Therefore Trojan attacks are so common these days. In most cases the Trojan first disables the anti virus software of the system and hence it is impossible to protect your system from the malicious activities of the Trojan unless you format the hard disc and do a clean installation. But then with so much vital information on the disc it is not always possible to format the system now and then. I recently d/l the free version and ran the full scan and it found the Trojan Horse. I clicked on Heal, but it didn’t do anything. I clicked on Virus Vault and see the file listed in there, but how do I get it removed?

Trojan Vundo also known as Vundo Trojan, Virtumonde, Virtumondo, and MS Juan, is a deadly Trojan that degrades the performance of your computer considerably. It floods your desktop with numerous annoying advertising pop-ups of rogue anti-spyware applications. It also cases denial of service for some websites including Google. It infects most of the common browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera. However some browsers such as Apple Safari are not affected by it.

Trojan Vundo is difficult to remove because it resides in the memory with Internet Explorer setup program and attaches itself to the Internet Explorer and Winlogon. It is difficult to close Winlogon and therefore whenever, you try to remove its DLL, you will get a message that the DLL is in use.

If you succeed in removing part of the the virus it will simply regenerate upon every boot. Vundo will also create multiple DLL files named with eight random upper and lower case characters which may get detected at the scanning process instead of the actual DLL file.

Trojan Vundo has many variants infections. The virus records keystrokes and logs them in order to steal confidential and private information from your computer such as credit card number, social security, and passwords.
