When I downloaded the Smitfraud.exe program and opened it. The window was red instead of blue like the picture provided with the intrusctions. It says “press any key to continue” but when i did the window just closes. Please help me. I can’t use my computer properly without getting this fixed. I have also used superantispyware and all those other scans but it doesnt detect it, so i can’t remove it.

I clicked on a video to watch and before I knew it, I had security pop ups, my computer shut down, my homepage is taken over and a security toolbar 7.1 has been added to my IE.
I’ve done a virus scan and removed some programs but it still hasn’t taken care of it.
Help?

I ran spybot and found a smitfraud virus. I tried to remove it but spybot says that I need to get rid of this on an adminstrator account when I am on an administrator account. How do I get rid of this smitfraud?

I’m asking through another pc. My infected pc is in safemode. It holds 80 gb but 40 gb is filled. Its already taken 2 hours. Norton antivirus scan is also running and it has also not finished.

ok…when i had (IE defender pops-ups) coming..I came on yahoo answers on how to get rid of it…I used smitfraud fix…now after I did the safe mode..and returned to normal mode…got rid the spyware (IE defender)..but my screen is still blue…and I have no sound on my computer..why is that? I don’t know how to shut down the program completely.

I know it’s malware so please don’t write a paragraph explaining why not to download it.

i have a computer that was hit with the smitfraud virus. i have an external hard drive that backs up my computer. Is it possible for the smitfraud to travel to and affect my external hard drive?

i have smitfraud and i have been trying for days to remove it. has anyone been able to remove it from their computers? if so, how? am i gonna have to buy a new computer? thanks.

Has the image on your desktop changed to something that you are completely unfamiliar with? The virus known as smitfraud-c could be the cause of something like this. The downloader Trojan virus is basically a spam tool that hackers use to make you buy fake anti-virus problems, as your screen will show some type of URL for you to go to or your screen will have some sort of warning that tells you your computer is compromised in some way.

You must remember to NOT download anything that your computer automatically tells you to, these programs are fake and ill just waste your hard earned money. In fact they will usually make your problems worst and you will have to spend even more time and money fixing your computer.

Smitfraud is what I like to call a gateway virus, as it is classified as a downloader and will let tons of other infections onto your computer without your knowledge. So if you have smitfraud-c or something like it, the time to remove the problem is now before it gets worse and you have to call an expensive IT guy.

What is the best way to remove Smitfraud-C?

When you are in the process of removing any kind of virus like smitfraud, you must make sure to remove all traces of it at the same time. If you miss any of the files and then reboot your computer, smitfraud will regenerate and come back stronger than before.
