Does Anyone Have Strong Solution For Getting Rid Of Adware? More Specifically “virtumonde.”?
I keep scanning my computer with Spy Sweeper 5.5. It detects virtumonde, quarantines it and I still keep getting unwanted pop-ups.

first uninstall spysweeper —- garbage…
how i fixed 3 computers from trojans and viruses was by doing this…
download these 2 programs they are all you need, they do update so it’s not like new stuff will get you either.
AVG ANTI SPYWARE and AVG ANTIVIRUShttp://www4.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-pr…http://www4.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-pr…
after you install each one make sure you update them. once updated do a full system scan using the Antivirus, and delete or heal any items found. It has a virus vault to store things. Like i said has worked on every computer I’ve tried, infections didn’t come back
Try Spybot – powerful and free
Ubuntu
Yes, go to (www.toggle.com) and position 2, then scroll down to the bottom of position 2, there you’ll find (ad-aware SE personal) download it and install it then run it, in about four minutes your smart scan will catch that virus and you can manually choose to delete it, then go to the quarantine list to click on it and remove it. I’ve tried many anti-virus software but theres nothing better than (ad-aware SE personal). For the pop ups you need a firewall, a very good firewall is (zonealarm Internet security suite), if you go to (zonelabs by checkpoint) you can download it from there, it’s a free 15 day trial, If you decide not to buy it, they still let you keep the free firewall, I bought mine though.
go to lavasoft.com and download the free version of ad-aware. I have had the same problem and it works great.
superantispyware
Norton System scan
Ad aware
here is an extremely helpful website that helped me get rid of some nasties. http://www.help2go.com/Tutorials/Protect…
There’s a lot of programs to help you to do just that & here’s one that’s created by MS,it did worked for me : http://www.lavasoftusa.com.
Good luck.
Check your program files. It may have installed itself there. I had a similar problem with outerfino and I had to uninstall it like a regular program.
Have you tried adaware?
Also, try running Spy Sweeper in safe mode instead. Some viruses will only be removed in safe mode.
Virtumonde is also known as Vundo and can be a pain in the keister to remove.
VundoFix.exe is a specialized removal tool developed to remove Vundo (aka Virtumonde) infections.
VundoFix removal tool is here:http://vundofix.atribune.org/
It’s free.

To prevent a Vundo re-infection:
The most common method of infection is through outdated versions of Sun Java; older versions are being exploited so it is important to firstly make sure that your Java software is fully up to date. And remove any old versions of Java, that may still be on your computer. Use your Add / Remove programs.
Good luck.
see the sources below. I would start the with the trendmicro free online scan, and then run the rest.
Good luck

Adaware?
No antivirus or antispyware protection is perfect, not even the expensive ones but a good mixture will help you clean your system and hopefully keep it clean. It is advisable not to run two or more anti virus applications.
For starters, download, update and run a full scan using the following product:http://www.superantispyware.com/
SuperAntiSpyware is exceptional and will remove the majority of difficult Trojans and Worms, not just the easy ones.
If possible it is recommended that you load the application in normal mode but run it in Safe Mode. Safe Mode can be started by continually pressing F8 during the boot sequence. However, if you are badly infected you might need to run SuperAntiSpyware more than once to help clean your system. If the only infections now being shown are in System Restore, once you are completely satisfied that you can boot normally, you can either delete the infected restore points manually, or temporarily turn off System Restore.
In addition download, update & run Avira. Unlike a lot of the free antivirus applications this will give you real time protection and is very quick to load at boot up.http://www.avira.com
Assuming you have some real awkward infections and the suggestions above failed to totally clean your system I suggest you download a Smitfraud removal program from:http://www.afterdawn.com/software/deskto…
Again if possible run in Safe Mode.
Be advised that some infections will corrupt or disable your resident security products so for completeness I have listed a couple of online scans that may help you get started:
Panda – http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/Ac…
Trend – http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Good luck & safe surfing.
